G3 pledges long term support to The Prince of Wales charity
G3 remarketing has pledged to donate £1 per vehicle sold through their auction to the Prince of Wales Hospice charity.
Speaking of the decision to donate every month Matt Dale, Director said ‘After personally experiencing the fantastic work that the Prince of Wales hospice in Pontefract do there was no difficult decision to make when deciding what charity partnership G3 would take. G3 hope that our regular donations will go some way to help other families at particularly difficult times’.
Tom Marley, Head of Development commented ‘G3 remarketing takes business ethics and social responsibility extremely seriously. If we can go some way to giving back to the local community or indeed help in some small way we will try. Hopefully this will be a very successful long term partnership’.
The aim of The Prince of Wales Hospice is to provide specialist palliative care. Specialist palliative care is the active total care offered to a patient with a progressive illness and to those close to them, when it is recognized that the illness is no longer curable. Specialist palliative care concentrates on quality of life and the alleviation of distressing psychological, spiritual, physical and social symptoms within the framework of a co-ordinated, inter-disciplinary service. In addition, specialist palliative care offers support in bereavement.
The Prince of Wales Hospice provides its care free of charge. It costs £2 million pounds every year, but only about one-third of this is received from the NHS. This means that two out of three patients who stay at The Hospice are cared for by the funds raised through its charity shops and, just as importantly, donations from people, companies and community groups.
