Matt Dale, Director of G3 Remarketing comments: “Segment value levels have increased in January 2014.  The best performing value markets centred between the £5,600-£5,800 mark. We expect this to remain constant in February.

“Mileage saw a slight decrease in January, with average mileages around 57,200 and average ages dropping again to 34.3 months.  Volumes increased markedly by c13.7%, as contract hire stock found its path through to auction. Volumes are expected to reduce slightly in February, with overall conversion rates rising, as stock remains thin due to the impending March registration.

“Fleet and lease vehicles values increased in January in line with expectations. Average fleet prices were around £8,640, up £298 month on month. Finance vehicles also increased in value with average prices at £6,130, an increase of £200.  I believe the market will continue to remain strong throughout February, as volumes reduce through all channels.”
